Spring is coming

It may seem like winter is here to stay, but inside the greenhouse we have already thrown off the yoke of February doldrums. Nothing a little plastic and a couple of tanks of propane can’t cure.  In another week the onions (flats on the left of the picture) will begin their relentless journey to somebodies skillet with the first fragile tendril of pale spring green. Amazingly we are still working off last year’s crop of onions, bringing the the process full circle. So no matter how skeptical and cynical we may have become about the possiblity that the earth will spring back to life, there is evidence that we have been through all of this before. Time to break out that old Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young album and add a few new scraches to it.
