Spring Crops
The season is moving along nicely. The rain slowed us down a bit, but it was timely and welcome for newly planted crops. We were lucky that we didn’t experience excess flooding last week.
Almost all of our main season crops our in the ground now. (Yesterday we finished up summer squash, winter squash, corn and the new planting of strawberries.) As the attached pictures show, the early April plantings of potatoes, kohlrabi and hothouse tomatoes are doing nicely and so far have not been devastated by the deer.
We’ll be at market tomorrow with ore plants, asparagus, lettuce, spinach, potatoes, spring garlic, herbs, and our own insouciant ability to talk intelligently about anything that contains chlorophyll.
